How to stitch a star
Stars are so useful for adding decoration to designs, especially Christmas ones. So as a little bonus I’ve added embroidery stitch instructions on how to stitch a star.
You can make stars out of straight stitches, either with 6 spokes or with 8 spokes. The one shown in the centre of the photo below has 8 spokes, decorated with French knots:

Hand embroidery stars
- Bring the needle up at 1, back down at 2, back up at 3 and so on until you have completed the star.
- It works in exactly the same way if you're doing a 6 pointed star. You just do 3 straight stitches instead of 4 and adjust the spacing.
